Willow Equestrian is a new tack shop in Guelph, Ontario, and one of my favourite tack shops to follow on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram! Clare has such an amazing taste in all things equestrian, and is very interactive with all her followers!
Clare grew up in the Guelph area, and started riding at a very young age. She showed on the Trillium and A circuits here for many years, and started as a working student and groom, and moved up to being a coach. She and her sister opened Bevans ridge, a training and lesson barn where she also bred Canadian Sport Horses. After working in the horse industry for many years, she noticed that Guelph was lacking a tack store. Last year, as social media and online shopping grew in popularity, Clare knew it was the right time to launch a tack store. With Willow Equestrian, Clare has created a full tack store with everything an equestrian could need, but also carry some amazing equestrian fashion lines as well.
Willow Equestrian has evolved into a place where local riders could come and shop but are also welcome to come and kick back on the couch and chat horses with Clare or their fellow riders. Clare strives to have happy customers, and from what I’ve seen – it’s working! This summer Willow Equestrian launched their online store, with a lot of orders come in from across the US. There are plans to upgrade the online store in 2015, so keep an eye out!
With a very active Twitter, Instagram and Facebook presence, it’s no wonder that Willow Equestrian and Clare are a hit in Canada and the US. All of the social media is handled by Clare herself, so you always get a fast and accurate response. Willow carries an amazing number of product lines including: Asmar Equestrian, Equiline, Tailored Sportsman, Cheval Fashions, Tredstep, RJ Classics, Samshield, Charles Owen, Phyllis Stein, My Barn Child, Black Knight Competition Accessories, Shires, Equifit, Back On Track, Sock It To Me, Walsh, Wilkers, Hansen Equestrian, Curvon Baker, Pessoa, HDR, Vespucci, Tory Belts, and Lilo Collections. They have Le Fash and Stirrups Clothing Company arriving this fall/winter.
I have chosen 3 of my favourite products that Willow Equestrian carries, and they are all available on the online store!
I have an older version of this one and love it! I’ve written a previous post on it before. This new generation of wristlets features a snap on attachment to your belt, so now you don’t have to take your belt off to put it on. Definitely a convenient addition! They are made of beautiful leather in a variety of different colours. I’ve had mine easily transition from the barn to a dinner with friends. Black Knight Competition Accessories is also a Canadian company.
Scarves are one of my favourite accessories, and what could be better than an infinity scarf with horses on it?! I love the periwinkle and teal accents of the horses and horse shoes – they’re amazing colours for any skin tone.
Saddle covers are a must-have for any equestrian looking to protect her prized possession! Hansen Equestrian, another Canadian company makes gorgeous machine washable covers lined with fleece in a number of different prints. The Ritz pattern is my favourite – the black and white pattern is so classic!
