Equestrian Trends for 2015

1. Tack Charms

So many sparkles in so many colours!

The Colleqtion Glitter Charms

Tack charms grew in popularity through 2014, and I see this trend continuing through 2015. The options are endless, with lots of colours, sizes and styles, you can accessorize all of your tack! The Colleqtion is my favourite tack charm company – check out a post I did on them here.

2. Contrast Knee Patches and Stitching

Recently Tailored Sportsman came out with black breeches using their signature tan knee patch, and they are to die for! I love mine, whether in the saddle or on the streets. A number of brands are doing contrast stitching or knee patches now, with Smartpak’s Piper breeches having contrast piping and stitching to add a splash of colour to your #ROOTD. A number of brands are starting to introduce these features to their lines, so look at your local tack shop or online!

3. Sunshirts

Wearing my Ariat Sunstopper

I am all about sun protection, and I love that shirts with UPF have become a fashion statement in the riding world. First starting with EIS shirts, there are now a range of brands offering shirts with cooling properties and UPF. My favourite shirts are the Ariat Sunstopper and the Tailored Sportsman Icefil Shirt.

4. Monograms

Monograms have always been a trend in the equestrian and preppy worlds, but they are becoming even more popular with the availability of iron on and vinyl sticker monograms, instead of the traditional embroidered monograms. I get all my monograms from Gigi & Tea – check out a post I’ve written on them here.

5. Social Media

Social Media is a game changer for equestrian small businesses; both Willow Equestrian and The Colleqtion said that was partially how they began their brands. With a number of brands creating social media ambassador positions, and big names like the USEF Network live tweeting events, I predict that the number of social media accounts related to equestrian brands will grow this year, and I can’t wait to follow them!
