Now that the school year is done, I am continuing my series of posts of female equestrian entrepreneurs. This week, I am featuring Lauren, the 18 year old founder of DASH Equine.
DASH Equine is a new charm and earring company based out of Ontario, Canada. Lauren started DASH in October 2014, launching her line through the Tack Shoppe of Collingwood at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. Combining her passion for the arts, media and design with her equestrian background, Lauren came up with a business plan that would give back. By starting DASH Equine, Lauren makes it easy for her customers to support a charity by buying something they love, while giving back at the same time!
Currently the proceeds from DASH Equine go to the WWF, however Lauren is looking into some horse rescue charities to support in the future. Next year, Lauren plans to go to university for media and environmental studies – both interests are clearly displayed in her business and the charity she’s supporting! I first found Lauren through her Twitter, and was drawn to her creative photos she takes to display her products, like the one below matching earrings to the paisley print of a Tailored Sportsman show shirt.
When Lauren is not coming up with new products for DASH, she spends time with her chestnut gelding, Cosmopolitan. They have been together for 4 years, and both love hunters, jumpers and dressage! Be sure to look for DASH Equine products through their Facebook page, as well as in Sprucewood Tack and the Tack Shoppe of Collingwood in Ontario, and the English Tack Shop in Alberta!
